Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome from our principal
Welcome to Bowral Public School, a place where learning is joyful, curiosity is encouraged, and every child is known, supported, and celebrated. Our school has a long and proud history within the community, serving families for over 150 years. We take pride in our strong community connections, seeing ourselves as a place at the heart of our community, and fostering a genuine sense of inclusion where every child and family belongs.
While high school is often seen as the pivotal stage in education, I believe a meaningful primary school education is vital. It is during these early years that children truly develop a love of learning, when their spark is ignited, and their potential begins to take shape. At Bowral Public School, we are committed to nurturing that spark by offering a wide range of opportunities across every aspect of school life. Whether it’s in the classroom, on the sports field, through the arts, or in leadership activities, we encourage every student to discover their strengths and passions.
We believe that a meaningful education comes from balancing challenge with support. Our dedicated staff hold the highest expectations for every student while ensuring a culture where wellbeing and belonging remain foundational. This combination allows students to grow with confidence, resilience, and a genuine love of learning. Education is a shared journey, and we believe that it truly takes a village to raise a child. Our village at Bowral Public School is made up of passionate, skilled educators who not only deliver excellence but love our school and are committed to its ongoing progress. This commitment is echoed by our community, where strong connections and pride in the school create an inspiring and supportive environment.
As a principal, and a parent of two school-aged children, I understand how important it is to find the right school environment for your child. Childhood is a precious time, and I believe children should be supported to have fun, make mistakes, and explore. At Bowral Public School we create the environement for this whilst also setting ambitious goals that inspire students to excel academically, socially, and personally.
If you are looking for a school with a culture of high achievement and genuine care, a village where your child will be challenged, supported, and celebrated, I warmly invite you to reach out and come in, meet myself and the team, ask questions, or simply experience what makes our school so special. This will help you make an informed decision about the best school community for your child.
Our school is a special place, full of remarkable young people who thrive across academic, creative, sporting, and social areas. They are guided by a dedicated and expert staff team, and supported by a community that deeply values meaningful public education.
I look forward to welcoming you to Bowral Public School and sharing what makes it so loved, and why we are proud to serve families across the Highlands.
Aimee Perfrement, Principal of Bowral Public School
